
Every teen deserves access to STEM opportunities.
Our mission at Teen Nerd Nite (TNN) is to provide exposure to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) opportunities, resources, and programs for high-school teens outside their standard education. TNN is based in North Vancouver, but all 2020/2021 virtual initiatives are available to students across BC.
The TNN 2020/2021 cycle will offer the following free STEM opportunities to students in grades 8-12:
New Event: Coming Monday, March 15, 2021 – “The Quantum Leaps Conference” on Zoom from 11a.m. to 4p.m. Watch 5 talks from scientists with careers deeply entrenched in technology and ask your questions in Q&A sessions after each talk. Registration is free. See a list of Speakers here.
Financial Literacy: The FREE McGill University “Finance Essentials” Course is back! Learn the basic skills you’ll need to manage your finances, the ins and outs of a getting a mortgage & understanding investing.
STEM Career Videos: A collection of short videos recorded by STEM experts discussing their journey, education and career available on TNN’s YouTube channel.
Scholarship Resources: Find the perfect scholarships for you, get tips on applying, and find out how to get all the extra curricular skills you’ll need to be a successful candidate.
Mental Health: If your mental health is suffering, everything suffers as a result. Whether you need support for anxiety or depression, want to see a family doctor, or are struggling with a stressful situation, Foundry will help you get the services you and your family need, at no cost. Foundry offers their wellness resources, services & support to anyone aged 12-24, online or in person across BC.
Leadership Opportunities: Learn about starting a Teen Nerd Nite club at your school and other available volunteering opportunities.
